My Story

Small hands,
big aloha.

I'm Gaia, and I'm 11 years old. I started making leis because I love the feeling of giving someone flowers they can actually wear. Every lei I make is strung by hand, one petal at a time.

I grew up on Maui, and Lei Day at school was always one of my favorite days of the year. Watching my teachers make leis, year after year, is what first got me interested in learning the craft myself.

To me, a lei is a way to make someone else feel happy. When you receive a lei, you know it's special — it means you're being celebrated. It's a way to mark an occasion that matters.

Making leis makes me feel good because I get to give people kindness. Working with the flowers of Hawai'i, and the aloha of the 'āina, means a lot to me. I love creating something beautiful that brings happiness to someone else.
